A father with his young son decided to make an urgent long journey. It had a small donkey that transports you to your destination. When they left the village where they lived some neighbors who saw them as they said, Look at these two mounted on the poor donkey, who can hardly both, seem to not have the slightest compassion for the poor animal, they are safe and do not die of exhaustion may continue with the trip. Hours later, the father and son reached the nearest town to stock up on provisions, but this time, to resume the march, the native farmers who saw them commented: Look at this man who is well seated on the donkey while his sickly son has to walk on foot, is a rude and abusive father. In the evening, after passing through a desert stretch, that father and son passed without stopping near another village. Travelers who accompanied them for a good stretch could not avoid making their findings: Look at that guy, they said, so young and strong, well sitting on the back of a donkey while the wretched old man has to walk under the pitiless sun, is a child inconsiderate, sentenced. Almost dusk, after a tiring day, the father and son finally reached the shore where there was a port, but before entering the same group of workers made fun of them shouting Fools language are almost out of sheer exhaustion, while the donkey trots lightly! Do not useful for anything that young animal? Or create servants of the same? Both father and son arrived exhausted at the harbor, but safe and, of course, the donkey too, in spite of adverse opinions that could never discover the true strategy that made them reach their final destination.
Note: My father told me this story, as I said, came from an old textbook. So I tried to recreate it here, because I found it interesting and revealing. I do not know if it matches the original, but the intention is only to evoke a moral.
